Credit Report and You

Why credit report is vital for you to obtain? Before asking for any type of credit or loan, and even a new job, do yourself a favor and check your credit report. A credit reports consist of any personal and public record allocated by credit reporting agency about all of us in the US and Canada. Here are the three major credit-reporting agencies, (Credit Bureaus):

You are entitling for one free credit report every year, (but you have to ask for it). Take the time to mail your request for your first credit report from each credit reporting company. Make sure to enter all your information such as your full name, SS#, date of birth, address, and previous address for the last five years; also add a utility bill to expedite your request.

Your report will arrived in about seven to ten days. Upon receiving your credit report, look on each item for most accuracy reflecting on you’re past credit history.

Make sure the information on this report is belonging to you! The reason for that is: Identity thefts are very common these days. Check all the items again and make sure that you, and only you are liable for these items. If you discover an item not belong to you, reported as soon as possible to these credit agency and ask to remove these particular item from your report.

It is your responsibility to contact the credit reporting agency and ask to investigate each item that not belong to you, and even an item that reflect inaccurate to your credit profile.

The process of correcting (or “fixing”) your report is called: Dispute.

I would like you to pay attention to this: That is the only way in which legally you can “FIX” your credit report! Do not be attempting to believe those credit clinics that they can fix your report for a hefty price.
